Mairi's book launch and first edition signing with illustrator Johnny Milne at the 'Harbour Lights' in Irvine on Saturday 19th of November went roaringly well. Family, friends, school chums and former teachers were there - from all corners of the UK and as far afield as Utah, USA. 'Old salts' who still recount tales about Mairi's father, Irvine harbourmaster Captain Ralph Henderson, turned up along with a clutch of Irvine residents who were there to discover a fantasy novel set in their own town. Copies of Beyond the Hedge were snapped up and signed prints of Johnny's drawings flew off the wall. A grand time was had by all. |
